Sabine Niederer

Sabine Niederer works with art, digital culture, and visual, digital and participatory methods for social research. A long-time fan of ARIAS, she is currently its programme manager, where she has introduced the theme close to her heart of ‘climate imaginaries’. Sabine is professor at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, where she heads the Visual Methodologies collective, a transdisciplinary research group of artists, designers, programmers, researchers working on the themes of climate futures, urban belonging and making methods.

She is one of the coordinators of the Digital Methods Initiative at the University of Amsterdam, with whom she traces the spread of problematic information around urgent social topics.

Sabine loves podcasts, books, music, drawing, photography and learning new things (currently: piano & Italian), and has a soft spot for art supplies.
