Artificial Worlds #3

Diagraming the Noise of AI

Sonia de Jager x Martina Raponi

How can we use diagrams as a way to explore noise on paper?

Following the archival gesture made during the last Artificial Worlds workshop, Sonia and Martina propose a continuation towards diagramming gestures to explore noise as a device and a methodology.

What do we talk about when we discuss noise?
How can we use noise as a Device and a Methodology?
Can we utilize Acoustic Epistemology (acoustemology) to explore the limits of conceptual thought?

Bring short texts, ideas for new categories and prompts on the topic of apophenia. The main tasks during the workshop will be those of dialogue and schematising.

We will discuss possible lines of orientation together, identify some common themes and divide into groups in order to explore these in depth by way of diagrams. We will shuffle our groups, diagram anew, and reconvene to attempt to morph the group diagrams into (a) collective one(s).

Join us in this last session before the summer break and explore how AI and noise intersect!
